OFFICIAL RULES
WADDLES THE PIG DRAWING CONTEST

The WADDLES THE PIG DRAWING CONTEST (“the Contest”) will run from Saturday, July 25, 2026 and end Monday, August 17, 2026 5:00 p.m. ET. Entry into the contest constitutes the entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these rules, terms, and conditions. In addition, entrant agrees to accept the decisions of the Sponsor, Promotion Parties, and Judges as final and binding in all matters related to this Contest.

HOW TO ENTER 
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR TO WIN. A PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. There is one (1) way to enter this Contest, as stated below:

MAIL YOUR ENTRY:
To enter, download the entry sheet and include all the required information. All entries must be received by Monday, August 17, at 5:00 p.m.ET. Times Publishing Company (“Sponsor”) is not responsible for lost, late, damaged, illegible, misdirected, or incomplete entries, or for errors in mechanical transmission, or other technical difficulties. Each Entrant acknowledges and agrees that Sponsor may use information submitted to contact Entrant and/or to offer Sponsor’s products or services.

Entries should be mailed to Tampa Bay Times Art Contest c/o Kirk Simpkins 801 Third Street S, St. Petersburg FL 33701. Entries must have child’s name, child’s age as of August 17, 2026, child’s grade, hometown, parent’s name, parent’s phone number and email address. Entries must be received by Monday, August 17, 2026.

PRIZE
Three prizes will be awarded in each age group. The age groups are: 3-5 years old, 6-8 years old, 9-10 years old. Each age group will have the following prizes: First-place winner: $50 gift card, Second-place winner $25 gift card, Third-place winner $15 gift card. Total prize value is $270.00. No substitution, transfer or deferral of the Prize will be allowed. All decisions of contest are final.

ELIGIBILITY
Contest is open to children ages 3-10 at the time of entry. Entrants will compete in one of the following age groups: 3-5 years old, 6-8 years old, 9-10 years old. A child may only enter once, but other eligible family members in the same household may enter in their appropriate age category. A parent or legal guardian must submit the entry on behalf of the child and agree to these Official Rules. Employees of Times Publishing Company, its affiliates and subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, contest prize suppliers, and participating advertisers and their immediate family members (collectively the “Promotion Parties”) are not eligible to win. “Immediate family members” means parents, siblings, spouses, children, grandparents and grandchildren, whether by current or past marriage, remarriage, adoption or cohabitation, and anyone living in the same household, whether related or not. Times Publishing Company and the Promotion Parties’ determination as to eligibility is final and binding.

To claim prize, winner may appear in person by appointment at a Tampa Bay Times c/o Poynter Institute 801 Third Street S, St. Petersburg FL 33701 and meet Lane DeGregory (author of the story) or a Times editor, or elect to have the prize mailed via USPS. If the prize is mailed, Sponsor is not responsible for delays, loss, damage, or non-delivery once the prize has been delivered to the United States Postal Service (USPS) for shipment.

Parent or legal guardian may be required to present valid, government-issued photo identification and residency. Winner may also be asked to sign legal documents or provide additional proof of eligibility. Winner may also be asked to mail an original signed affidavit, W-9, and copy of a valid government-issued photo identification to Times Publishing Company, Attn.: WADDLES THE PIG DRAWING CONTEST, PO Box 1121, St. Petersburg, FL 33731. For security purposes, this information should be mailed USPS certified mail or by Express Courier of choice that included receipt proof of delivery. Specifically, Winner must complete a notarized affidavit of eligibility, which releases Sponsor, its affiliates, and prize suppliers from any and all liability related to this Contest or use or acceptance of the prize. Winner must complete the affidavit of eligibility, without making changes, and return the properly completed affidavit for receipt by Times Publishing Company within 10 days of the date the winner received prize notification. Winner may, at his/her option, return the required documents via encrypted or protected email to [email protected]. Prizes will not be given until confirmation of completed documents is provided by Sponsor. Failure of Times Publishing Company to receive a properly executed affidavit within 10 days of winner notification will result in disqualification and forfeiture of prize. Alternate winner is subject to all requirements and limitations in these Official Rules. By accepting a prize, the winner agrees to allow the use of his or her name, voice, photograph, likeness and any information provided on the entry form, (in any media now known or hereafter invented) and for any purpose, including advertising, promotional or other purposes, by Times Publishing Company and its affiliates, without further compensation.

NOTIFICATION OF WINNER
Entries will be judged by a panel selected by the Tampa Bay Times newsroom. Judges will evaluate submissions based on creativity, originality and artistic expression. The decisions of the judges are final and binding. Winner will be notified on or around Wednesday, August 19, 2026. A Times Publishing Company representative will notify winner(s) by email message using the information submitted on the entry. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. The Winner(s) must produce adequate proof of identity, such as a driver license or photo I.D. card, to take possession of the Prize.

PRIZE RESTRICTIONS
The prize, furnished by Times Publishing Company, is valued at $50, $25, or $15. No alternative prize or other substitution is permitted except in the event of prize unavailability, in which case Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize or prizes of equal or greater value. Prizes are not transferable or assignable by the Winner. Winner is responsible for any charges not specifically listed as part of the prize or to redeem or make use of prize, including transportation to and from any destination in connection with taking possession of or using the Prize, and any and all taxes, if any. All federal, state and local taxes, fees, and surcharges, and any necessary or appropriate insurance, are the responsibility of the winner. Winner agrees to pay all such taxes, fees, and surcharges and is responsible for furnishing proof of insurance if and as required by law. The winner must complete a W-9 tax form provided by Times Publishing Company prior to taking possession of the Prize. Winner must agree to hold the Sponsor and Promotion Parties harmless from any and all liability for damages or losses of any nature incurred in connection with use of the prize, including transit to and from any destination in connection with the prize. Winner grants to the Sponsor, its affiliates and its licensees the absolute right and permission to use their name, likeness, photograph, place of residence, voice, opinions, and biographical information for promotional and publicity purposes in any manner or media, including electronic media. Winner acknowledges and agrees that they shall have no right of approval or claim to compensation arising from such publicity.

MISCELLANEOUS
Contest rules shall be governed and enforced pursuant to Florida law, excluding choice of law provisions. All other federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law. Entrants agree to be bound by these rules. Sponsor is entitled to interpret these rules as needed and their decisions are final. Sponsor reserves the right to correct typographical, clerical or printing errors in any Contest materials. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with the secure operation of this Contest will be disqualified and ineligible to win. Sponsor reserves the right to terminate or cancel this Contest at any time in such circumstances. In such circumstances, the Prize will be awarded based on entries received as of the date of termination.

First place winners will be published in the Tampa Bay Times. More winners will be listed on tampabay.com.

ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
By entering the Contest, the entrant, for him/herself and for his/her heirs, executors, administrators, assigns and anyone else claiming by or through him/her, waives, covenants not to sue and fully releases and forever discharges any and all rights, claims or causes of action whatsoever that he/she may have against Sponsor arising directly or indirectly out of entrant’s participation in the Contest. For purposes of this waiver and release, “Sponsor” includes Times Publishing Company and its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, agents and employees. This waiver and release covers, without limitation, any damage, liability, cost, attorneys’ fees and expenses whatsoever, whether known or unknown and whether foreseeable or not. Sponsor reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize of equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement. Sponsor is not responsible for typographical or other errors in printing, the offering, or the administration of the contest or in the announcement of the prize.

WADDLES THE PIG DRAWING CONTEST OVERVIEW
Enter the contest by submitting one entry per child between July 25, 2026 and August 17, 2026. Winners will be chosen by a panel of judges from the Tampa Bay Times newsroom. Winners will receive a gift card.
