Welcome to the Reading with the Rays: Read your way to the ballpark Summer Reading program!
The Tampa Bay Rays and the Tampa Bay Times Newspaper in Education teams are excited about summer and summer reading. anxious to get you reading.
We are proud to virtually partner with the school districts in Charlotte, Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk and Sarasota counties to promote the Reading with the Rays program and encourage students in grades Pre-K through 12 to read this summer.
The purpose of the Reading with the Rays program is to encourage young people to read over the summer break from school. By reading books this summer, Charlotte, Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk and Sarasota county students can circle the bases - first, second, third - by reading enough hours to reach home base. Once you reach home base, you will win two tickets to see the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field!
Reading the daily Tampa Bay Times is also a great way to circle the basis and keep those reading skills sharp. Students will have access to the digital edition of the Times during the summer. To find out your county’s user name and password, contact your Library Media Services Supervisor or email [email protected]
Families also can receive a discounted all-access subscription to the Times. Go to the PARENTS & TEACHERS page for details.
